From 19 to 21.01.2024 in the Park Hotel "Moscow", Sofia, Bulgaria was held a Kick-off Meeting of the Project ‘Taekwon-Do for Rights with a number: 101133552’. It was attended by three representatives from each partner organization - 1 coordinator, 1 volunteer and 1 representative of the law enforcement body of the state.
Official guests at the meeting were:
- Anatoli Iliev - the Deputy Chairman of "Sofia - World Capital of Sports"
- Chavdar Atanasov - Chairman of Sports Association - Ministry of Interior
- Christiana Kazandzhieva – Manager of Agenda OOD, the consulting firm of the project
Mr. Anatoli Iliev expressed his gratitude to the head of the project, Vencislav Ignatov, and noted that by organizing such large-scale sports events, Sofia has earned the title of "World Capital of Sports" for 2024.
Mr. Chavdar Atanasov congratulated the participants in the project and the leadership of the Central Police Taekwon-Do Club, which is a member of the SA-MIA, for continuing to work on the program of the "Young Friends of the Police" association, whose task is to form an active civil position and positive public opinion towards police activities, especially among children and adolescents and to build a good motor culture and maintenance of good physical shape among young people through systematic physical activities and sports.
At the meeting, the Distribution and Communication Plan was presented, as well as the electronic platform BeValueR, where all information related to the project, photos and video recordings will be available and through which volunteers and competitors will be able to register to participate in the project.
19 adult volunteers participated in international leadership training. The aim of the training was to equip the volunteers with the relevant skills to create strong and cohesive teams of people in their countries, determined to make a difference in their lives and ready to act as role models for future generations.
During the meeting, the rules and all accompanying activities of the sports event, which will be held in October 2024, were discussed. For competitors from the ten partner organizations, the scoring system with bonus cards was also introduced.
The meeting included a visit to the Asics Arena sports hall. The partners got acquainted with its scale and the possibility of hosting the competition.
Project participants had the opportunity to enjoy a sightseeing tour of the capital.
